About Us
We are a farm family of eight raising our kids, dogs and livestock on the shores of beautiful Peterson Lake in Bigfork, Montana for the past 14 years. We have been raising, handling, breeding or training labradors since 2004. We are fully a family operation and our six children, ages six to sixteen, are completely engaged in the love, care and socialization of our pups from birth.
Our Philosophy
We intentionally have built a small kennel so that our puppies can truly spend their first weeks of life as our family pets, living with and among us and beginning training and socialization from day one. It is a common site to find piles of kids and puppies snuggled together in our living room! We believe the care and interaction puppies receive in the beginning season of life has repercussions for the remainder of their days, and genuine love and care in their early days is the making of an excellent adult dog. We strive to breed first-rate family dogs and companions through our small family operation.
Life on the Farm
Labs are just one of the animals we breed and sell on our family farm! We breed and raise black angus cattle and Hampshire and Duroc pigs as well as raise chickens, and grow a large garden. We love farm life and raising animals and have been practicing animal husbandry for many years as a family!
What to expect
At Peterson Lake Labradors, you can expect a lab puppy that is well cared for and prepared to give much love and affection to its new owner. We breed based on a variety of traits, most prominent being temperament and health and our dogs are expected to be 65-75 pounds as an adult dog. Every one of our dogs is AKC registered and by the time you purchase it each puppy will have been wormed and have received its first round of vaccinations. Our puppies also come with full breeding rights.
